Postgraduate Diploma in Early Intervention (PGDEI)
Designed to prepare specialists in early identification and intervention for children with developmental delays and disabilities, enhancing outcomes through family-centered care.
Course Objective
To train professionals to provide early identification, assessment, and intervention services for infants and young children (0–6 years) with developmental delays or disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, hearing and vision impairment, etc.
The focus is on family-centered, community-based and multidisciplinary ntervention approaches.

Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in the following fields:
- Medicine (MBBS)
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Speech and Hearing
- Nursing
- Psychology
- Child Development
- Special Education
- Social Work
- or any equivalent degree from a recognized university.
Minimum Marks: 50% aggregate (relaxation as per norms for reserved
categories)
Course Duration
- 1 year (Full-Time)
- Includes theory + practicals + internship/fieldwork

- English and/or Regional Language (depending on the institute)

- Eligible for RCI registration as a rehabilitation professional
